Every
seaside resort boasts of its share of fish restaurants, especially those
that are fishing ports. Lowestoft is no exception - understandably,
as this has always been the UK's premier "plaice port". Situated
on the Suffolk coast on the Claremont Pier at South Beach, Lowestoft,
you will find an exception. Captain Nemo's restaurant is that bit special.
Not only is there
a full restaurant menu to suit every taste, including fish meals each
day, but there are always fish specials on the board to tempt the discerning
diner. Cod, plaice and haddock are available all the time as Captain
Nemo's also has a busy take-away on site and these fish are on hand
for the restaurant customers.
The delicacies on
the specials board change with availability and as far as possible are
locally sourced. Sea views allow diners to watch the inshore fishing
boats returning to port with the day's catch. Tomorrow's lunch will
be aboard one of these local day boats.
Captain
Nemo's is open all year round and offers
- 100 seats in
the restaurant and a further 30 seats outside.
- Undercover seating
on the balcony overlooking the golden sands of Lowestoft beach.
- A Braille menu
always available.
- Some members
of staff are also trained in British Sign Language.
- FREE Baby Dinners.
- FREE colouring
sheets for the children, where they can win a £10.00 gift voucher
for the best drawing of Captain Nemo, this competition is monthly.
